JLT hosts winter stewardship event

Jefferson Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help plant trees above Snow Creek from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The trees would reforest a clearcut above Snow Creek, allowing the water draining into Snow Creek to remain clean and cold for salmon and other wildlife.

To get there, travel south on State Route 20 about 10 miles to Discovery Bay, then turn left (south) onto U.S. Highway 101. Follow 101 south for about 1.3 miles and turn right onto West Uncas Road. Parking is available near the corner of West Uncas and Wycoff roads.

Contact Carrie at cclendaniel@saveland.org by Jan. 15 to carpool from Port Townsend.
