Jefferson County offers no shortage of events to help the community celebrate Easter. Here is a roundup of some of them.
The Friends of Fort Flagler are presenting an Easter egg hunt at Fort Flagler’s lower campground at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, near the group picnic area across from Beachcomber Cafe, for children aged 2-14.
Children will be grouped into two age groups, so the young ones have better odds, and no child should come away empty-handed.
If you’d like to bring your empty baskets for the children, it would be appreciated.
The event is free, and you can register as eventbrite.com online.
The Quilcene Fire Rescue volunteer association will present its own free, all-ages Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. on April 19, at the Quilcene Masonic Hall at 170 Herbert St. in Quilcene.
A benefit breakfast will be served from 8-11 a.m. by donation, and the Easter Bunny, a photo booth and games will be on site, in addition to the egg hunt itself.
The following day, the Port Townsend Elks Lodge No. 317 will present its 95th annual Easter egg hunt at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, at Chetzemoka Park, with brunch to follow, for free.
And the Halfway House restaurant will present Brinnon’s free Easter egg hunt for 2025 at 2 p.m. on April 20 at Brinnon Elementary School, at 46 Schoolhouse Road in Brinnon.
Event organizers promise fun games, raffles and lots of eggs.
