Arlene Frances Ryder Nesbitt passed away with her husband Robert at her side in their home .

Arlene was born in Valley City, North Dakota; at age 6 her family moved to Olympia, Washington. 

Arlene graduated from Kelso High School. Arlene met then married Robert G Nesbitt in Olympia on Oct. 12, 1958 at the Free Methodist Church. After living in Olympia, the couple moved to Hoodsport and back to Olympia where they raised their family for 19 years. They then moved to Port Townsend where they have lived for the past 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her sister Joyce and son Morgan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Robert; sister Peggy; daughters Cathy, Beth (Jeff) and Vicky (Jess); and son Russell (Barbara); and eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four nieces and five nephews.

Arlene was a wife, mother, grammie, homemaker, bookkeeper, 4-H leader, artist and gardener. She shared her love and passion for decorative painting and gardening with all of those around her. When Arlene started to paint in the ‘70s, her children knew if they didn’t move fast enough that they could get painted!

A graveside service was held at Laurel Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
