The University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County is seeking applicants for its university, community school, and technical school scholarships.

Applications are due by March 6.

Finalists will be notified in late March and may be asked to interview in April. Scholarship recipients will be informed in early May, with awards presented May 14.

The $11,000 Elmira K. Beyer Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a woman from East Jefferson County who has completed at least one year of university study and wishes to continue her education. An additional $8,500 scholarship based on the same criteria will also be awarded.

Additional university scholarships include the $5,860 Constance Anna Pash award for those women already in college pursuing STEM degrees; the $6,000 Lisa T. Painter Endowed Scholarship for women who plan to study law, fine arts, or health care disciplines (graduating high school seniors, or women already in college); the $3,000 UWF Environmental Scholarship for women who wish to study environmental science (graduating high school seniors or women already in college) and the new $2,500 Susie Pool Moses scholarship for women pursuing a career in the medical field.

High school seniors graduating this year can apply for a High School Scholarship Award.

Three awards in the amount of $4,000 each, will be given to a student from each of the three area high schools: Port Townsend, Chimacum, and Quilcene.

One or more Technical Career Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded to women from Jefferson County who wish to pursue their education at an accredited technical school or community college.
