The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 140 calls between Friday, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 16.  Below are selected reports.

At 8:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, two windows were reported broken in the 1200 block of Sims Way. It appeared someone had thrown a rock through them. No entry was reported, and there were no cameras. The damage was documented.

At 11:26 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, a caller reported two loose dogs near Discovery Road and 16th Street. Another caller reported the same thing. Officers arrived but were unable to locate the animals.

At 12:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, officers responded to call in the 2100 block of 21st Street. The property owner had called a tow truck to remove an unauthorized vehicle, and was worried about the vehicle owner retaliating. The officer spoke to all parties involved, and the tow truck removed the offending vehicle.

At 1:21 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, a caller in the 3300 block of San Juan Avenue wanted to report a possible stolen check. She said she usually receives a check by the fourth of the month, and her December check had not yet been received.

The caller believes the person who writes her the checks may have blocked her number. The woman was informed that the issue was a civil issue and was advised to contact the property manager about the check.

At 9:09 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, a caller in the 3300 block of San Juan Avenue said two people have been bothering her for quite a while. She knew their first names, but not their last names. The people were not with her at the moment.

Officers noted the individual has made similar claims in the past.

At  3:55 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, a beach walker in the area of the 5800 block of Kuhn Street discovered a canister that looked like an unexploded submarine flare. An officer walked nearly two miles in to determine that the object was indeed a flare.

U.S. Navy personnel from Kitsap County came and detonated the flare before midnight.

At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, a property owner in the 2700 block of Discovery Road arrived to find evidence of squatters on her property. She reported the incident, and officers responded, noting a very large amount of trash.

No squatters were on site. The woman said this has happened in the past, and said she was going to clean up the mess.

Officers advised her to call if the squatters returned.
