Your latest story (November 6) regarding the City Manager John Mauro’s resume gives front page ink to an attorney (Chuck Henry) who assisted drafting the original complaint against Mauro. The story then goes on to summarize previous stories and eventually includes statements of support for Mauro from current elected Port Townsend officials. The whole series of Leader stories on this issue are an example of “gotcha” journalism. The editorial cartoon added to that impression.
The Leader plays an important role in Port Townsend and Jefferson County. We’re already deluged with misinformation/disinformation at the national level; please do not start doing that here.
