A Port Townsend man previously arrested for a crime spree was arrested again, once more for a crime spree, a week later.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, David Jevne, 35, was first arrested on numerous charges — including theft of a motor vehicles, first-degree robbery, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and second-degree possession of stolen property — and booked into jail before being released on bond July 15.

Then, at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, a Port Townsend resident reported his 2008 Ford F-150 was stolen earlier in the day. The truck had the keys in it and there were no suspects at that time.

That soon changed.

On Wednesday, July 29, at approximately 11:23 a.m., a Port Townsend resident reported two males, one in a ski mask, had attempted to steal her trailer from her home.

The suspects pulled away with her trailer, she said, however it fell from the hitch and remained on scene as the suspects fled.

The victim described the suspect vehicle as being a red pickup.

The Sheriff's Office caught up with Jevne after a Quilcene resident reported a man passed out in a vehicle and not moving at about noon Wednesday.

Emergency crews responded, and the man was seen getting out of the vehicle with a methamphetamine pipe in his hand. Deputies came to the scene and identified the man as Jevne.

A search of the vehicle revealed a box containing paperwork below to a South Discovery Road address.

"As you can imagine," the department wrote in a Facebook post, "deputies were mightily suspicious that it was stolen. [They] noted that the windshield was broken out from the vehicle Jevne was driving and was missing."

Jevne was questioned about the truck and initially denied any knowledge.

While in midst of his denial, though, deputies noted a Ford truck key dangling from a wrist band.

It was later found to fit the stolen F-150.

Deputies went to the South Discovery address and noted the stolen red Ford pickup was parked behind the garage.

A prospective buyer of the residence, which was vacant, said the only item known to be missing was a filing box in the kitchen that housed paperwork for the residence.

Deputies also found a broken windshield from a vehicle next to the truck, and checked the stolen Ford and noted several storage totes and tools in the back of it.

Jevne allegedly admitted to deputies the items were stolen from a storage unit in Port Townsend.

Deputies responded to the storage unit and noted that the unit was burglarized and several items were missing. They contacted two additional Port Hadlock residents who had stored and purchased the stolen items from Jevne and recovered some of the stolen property.

The case currently remains under investigation.

Jevne was rebooked into Jefferson County Jail on two counts of burglary, first-degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, trafficking in stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of burglar tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
