Alice Ann Albert has lived in Port Townsend since 1969 when she moved to be near her parents Paul & Merlyn Albert. She raised 6 children here, Diane, Daniel, Dana, and David Belmont and Desiree’ & Daphne Alexander. She ran the Palace Hotel for 15 years, walked town 5 miles a day, and loved Dixieland Jazz Festivals. She was later known for hanging out on the downtown corner of Taylor and Water St. watching clouds and people pass by.

She is survived by two siblings, her brother Dick Albert and her sister Grace Powers, her sister Dawn Palmer was deceased before her. Alice Ann was deeply loved, greatly admired and will be dearly missed by all. She was a very unique spirit in this town and I’m sure is still here hovering over us all, watching the clouds and people from the other side.
