A Port Townsend woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle shortly before noon March 24 after she pulled out in front of a vehicle at the intersection of State Route 19 and State Route 104 and was struck by a Quilcene man, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Lavonne M. Geiger, 52, had stopped her Chevrolet pickup at the intersection. She pulled out in front of a Ford Ranger pickup being driven by James Mccullough, 83, of Quilcene, according to a WSP report.

The car Geiger was driving was struck on the driver's side, the report said.

Mccullough was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.

Both Geiger and Mccullough were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The patrol report indicated the cause of the accident was Geiger's failure to yield the right of way. Charges are pending, the patrol reported.

Geiger was reported in critical condition at 2:30 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for Harborview Medical Center.
