Chimacum High School senior guard Jada Trafton scored 18 points and sophomore Mia McNair added 11 to lead the Cowboys past Steilacoom 49-48 on Dec. 29 during the consolation final at the Charles Wright Academy girls basketball holiday tournament in Tacoma.
Chimacum (3-4) trailed by two at halftime and entered the fourth in a 33-33 tie.
Seniors Grace Yaley and Maddie Dowling each added seven points for the Cowboys.

Sept. 6 saw the Discovery Bay Women’s Golf Club hold their second annual Scholarship Fundraiser Tournament, in which 31 women (and men) showed up on what club spokeswoman Dee Sweeney called “a beautiful Friday morning” to compete and determine who would also become this year’s champions at the putting contest and KPs (closest to the pin on the par-three holes).
