I was a left leaning liberal democrat for the first forty years of my life. I am sorry that you feel this way about people. You however included seem to be drawing a line. I am conservative and yet somehow I support all those rights. I have a daughter who is LGBTQ and proud of her.

This letter sounds like it’s straight off of MSNBC and CNN.

Here’s a question, what should I tell my friends who happen to be women, LGBTQ, black people, brown people, Christians, Muslims, and shamans? Should I tell them their views of being conservative don’t matter and that it’s wrong because some liberal said so.

Any lines drawn were only added to with this article. Instead of looking for common ground you only solidified the line. Read your words again. Makes you part of the problem.

I wonder if saying so will invite people to say they respect my opinion (as your article requests, respect all others) or if they hate and slander will come down. One will show most liberals true colors. Those defining lines only get thicker when you add to the fire as the letter above here does. Just because one groups doesn’t support some aspects of your life does not make you a victim and it does not mean they are coming to get you! I wish you and your husband a long happy life. But you won’t find happiness till you open your heart and stop fearing what you believe hates you. It’s just not so. Blessings.
