Numbers are hard to be exact but a safe guestimate would be 20+ million AR 15s' in the US. Why that many? because they are a good rifle for hunting, affordable ammunition, and very accurate, thus the tag 'Americas Rifle". To say that " it has no valid recreational use" is just a flat-out lie.

"The AR-15, like its military version, is designed to kill people quickly and in large numbers". This is where gun control advocates go off into crazy land. You cited 6 cases where a AR 15 was used to kill people en masse, Hmmm, 20 million AR 15 owners, 6 mass murderers using a AR 15. I wonder how many people die from drunk drivers every year, maybe we should ban cars?

Banning Americas Rifle is not reasonable, raising the legal age to purchase to 21 is reasonable, Red Flag confiscations may be hard to enforce if the guns are hidden, but worth a try anyway.
