The board of Jefferson County commissioners listened to three hours of public testimony about rules for commercial shooting facilities Dec. 10 as more than 50 people spoke during a hearing at the Fort Worden Commons. They addressed a proposed ordinance that would make changes to Title 18 in county code, which deals with land use.
The official dedication of the new lights at Memorial Athletic Field in Port Townsend drew no shortage of speakers Dec. 7, but two who were impacted directly were student-athletes Logan Storm and Margeaux Manuel.
When the four East Jefferson Fire Rescue personnel dispatched to fight the Woolsey fire arrived in California, they immediately set to work to help their overwhelmed counterparts in any way they could, be it fighting fires or filling in for emergency calls.
When the team left, the Woolsey fire burning in Los Angeles and Ventura counties was one of several active fires in California. But it had died down when they arrived.
