The high school volleyball seasons ended for Chimacum and Port Townsend on Nov. 6 with district tournament losses.
Cascade Christian defeated Chimacum in three games Nov. 6, while Seattle Christian outlasted Port Townsend in five games. Bellevue Christian (24-2) won the district title and Seattle Christian (24-2) placed second, knocking out Klahowya (and Cascade Christian in the process).
Chimacum finished 4-9 (no statistics or scores reported from district), PT finished 9-6.
PT coach Nettie Hawkins is sad to see her team's nine seniors depart and pleased with the team's nine wins – the most since 2007 and as many as the previous five seasons combined.
"I had such an amazing group of talented athletes this year," Hawkins reported. "Sad to see them go, because we have grown to be a family the last four years, as eight of [this year's seniors] have been on varsity since freshman year but so blessed and grateful for the relationships that have been made."
Visiting Seattle Christian had to work to oust PT here Nov. 6; the Warriors won 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 17-25, 15-9.
"It was a point for point match! Both teams had their ups and downs and unfortunately our season was the one that had to end," Hawkins said.
