The best of each of us is badly needed now | Letter to the editor

It’s the second day of fall and the leaves crunch beneath my feet and the crisp smell of apples and taste of honey lingers as I celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

It’s a time to reflect and go deep into myself to make amends, begin a new chapter of my life, become a better person and make new paths for peace and honesty between others. A time to give thanks for a glorious summer of sunlight days and afternoons.

I welcome fall with its changing colors and the warm soups and apple pies and baked apples.

I want to remember all the good things in spite of the pandemic which has altered our lives in so many ways. Changing the way we socialize and try to be safe and keep our distances. Yet we still need the time to be caring and kind toward one another. The upcoming election is critical, so I hope each of us consider the consequences of this chance in our community to make positive changes.

It will take the best from each of us to make our light shine brighter!
