The Port Townsend High School Mock Trial Team took 11th place in last weekend’s state competition, winning two out of its four trials.
The varsity PTHS Mock Trial team is one of 60 in the state and 24 in the state competition. Both the varsity and the junior varsity teams have been preparing for this competition since October, placing first and second respectively at the district competition in February.
The state team was composed of seven seniors, two juniors and two sophomores, who competed in four trials over the two-day competition. Best Witness nominations went to Ben Rolland, Stevie Riepe, Greta Gamble, Laure Mounts, Helena Stafford and Ben Cundiff. Best Overall Attorney nominations went to Mounts, Maria Morrison and Corinne Pierson.
