The Jefferson County Historical Society will present “Ceramics with LaughinGnome Pottery” as the next installment in its First Friday Speaker Series.
A series that spotlights craftspeople throughout the county, First Fridays aim to celebrate the art of making and to honor mediums of all kinds.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, Darby Huffman and Francie Loveall of LaughinGnome Pottery will give an in-person studio tour and demonstration.
Guests will get to explore the kiln and the creative space. The hosts will give an overview of the production process. Participants will also get to taste the flavor properties of LauginGnome’s trademark unglazed, high-fired pottery.
Since 2005, Huffman and Loveall have been producing this type of pottery which enhances the flavor of any beverage through an ionization process called nucleation.
This event is limited to 30 guests and all attendees must pre-register.
