Bob Domin has combined two totally different entities to create in his article, and I daresay his mind, an evil group called the “Republican Christian.”
Domin represents everything that he is condemning Republicans and Christians of being. His article drips with hate. He attacks certain groups and accuses them of being a certain way; Lumping two separate groups into one ugly “manifestation” that he invented in his own sick mind.
Republican is a political party. That means that they share common ideals. They don’t hate immigrants. What most republicans are against is “ILLEGAL” immigration. There isn’t time here to go into all of the misconceptions about the Republican Party he penned.
Domin’s attack on Evangelical Christians is riddled with misinformation. Obviously he has never really talked to a Christian at length and only filled his mind with propaganda. In fact, his ranting reminds me of the horrible caricatures of the Nazi party depicting the Jews as evil monsters. (see U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum website.)
Real Christians do not hate Jews. Quite the opposite. We recognize them as God’s Chosen People. We support Israel and believe that as a country we should stand united with Israel.
“Evangelicals take the Bible seriously and believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek word euangelion, meaning “the good news” or the “gospel.” Thus, the evangelical faith focuses on the “good news” of salvation brought to sinners by Jesus Christ.” (see nae.net “what is an evangelical” web page) If Domin took the time to read the New Testament he would see that it is God’s love story for human kind. Evangelicals are only reaching out to individuals to tell them the Good News: That God loved them so much He literally hung on a cross to take on their sin.
I invite Mr. Domin to visit an evangelical church in our area to see and hear with his own eyes and ears what goes on there. I guarantee he won’t hear or see the hate that he so vehemently professed. He’ll see the “manifestation of the Love of Jesus Christ.”
