Tri-Area to host annual feast
The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County, Olympic Peninsula Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) and Jefferson Healthcare are hosting a free Christmas community meal at the Tri-Area Community Center in Chimacum again this year.
The community center is located at 10 West Valley Road, across the street from Chimacum High School.
The Christmas meal is served noon-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 25. It is to be a festive event and open to all community members, event organizers said. The meal includes live music performed by Nan Toby Tyrrell. Those who are housebound can request a meal be delivered to them by calling 732-4822 no later than noon on Saturday, Dec. 24.
BLTC dinner has Italian twist, benefits food banks
Better Living Through Coffee (BLTC), a coffee shop in downtown Port Townsend, is hosting a free Christmas dinner open to the public on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25. The feast is planned to start at about 1 p.m. and go until 4 p.m.
“It will be a place for everyone to go on Christmas Day; whoever wants to come and be served a full Christmas dinner,” said Michael LeDonna, a founding BLTC owner, in a press release. “There is going to be lasagna, some kind of meat, salads and appetizers.
“The dessert will be a traditional Christmas-style apple pie and apple cider. You will get a traditional dinner like anywhere else, but with an Italian twist to it, because I am Italian-American.”
Donations are welcome, and all funds go to the Port Townsend Food Bank.
