February 22, 2024, Catherine “CC” C. Hendy, 75, departed Earth and was guided to Heaven with her loving partner, Irvin, and daughter, Lauren, at her side.

CC was an imaginative artist who displayed her creativity in her day-to-day life. She shared her art with all, with the intent to bring joy to the lives of others, and she did. CC was driven by acts of generosity toward her family, friends, and strangers. CC didn’t care who you were or the wrongs you may have committed; she sought to treat all with forgiveness and compassion, and she did. CC was a counselor and mentor. She aspired to improve every life she could touch, and she did.

CC is survived by her loving partner Irvin Schneider; her children Lauren and Sam Reinertsen and Dylan and Kara Hendy; her loving grandchildren Claire, Lena, and Lukas; her sisters Elizabeth Bergen and Jody Mitchell; and loyal beloved friends. CC was predeceased by her father, William Telford White; her mother, Elizabeth Wolfer; her brother, Tim White; and her spouse, Paul Hendy.

CC studied at the University of Cincinnati, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts and Education. In 1974, Catherine met Paul. They fell in love with each other and with the Pacific Northwest. They married and moved to Seattle, WA. CC worked in many commercial art positions: newspaper publishing, book design, and technical illustration. At the Boeing Company, CC was one of the first women to work on technical drawings when computers were just starting to be used for publishing. With her degree in education, she also produced technical writing, working on environmental publications, training material, and software manuals.

CC and Paul would raise their children and later open a family sawmill on the Olympic Peninsula. She coached dance and theater and was a forerunner in establishing what it means to be a present-day soccer mom. CC was as passionate as a mother as any. When Paul passed away, CC rose to the challenge as a single parent with a level of dignity and courage that inspires us to this day. After years of peaks and valleys, CC met Irvin in 2008, and the widows fell in love.

For the last 16 years CC and Irvin resided in Winlaw, British Columbia, where they both retired and enjoyed the peaceful serenity of the outdoors, their views of the Cascade Mountains, tending their garden, traveling the world, and loving and supporting their family, friends, and pet cats.

CC’s family will hold a Celebration of Life Ceremony in her honor in Quilcene, WA on July 20, 2024. She will be remembered as a strong, passionate, and loving partner, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. For more information about the Celebration of Life please email Lauren at laurenhendy@gmail.com.
