The re-election of Sheriff Stanko should be a given because he has worked tirelessly and well for Jefferson County. Unfortunately, there seems to be some discussion about Sherif Stanko’s ability to continue to do the job. Most of this unfounded discussion comes from the Democratic Party in Jefferson County. They have chosen, yet again, an unvetted candidate who has been proven over and over to not be capable of doing the job. But the Democrats don’t really care about that, they only want their candidate to win. As usual, three little old white men in a back room, (yes, I know their names, so does everybody, and the location of the back room), have chosen a candidate and have pushed him forward without any consideration of the consequences of their choice. As usual, the party wants power and has no interest in what is best for the people.
I don’t know about you, dear voter, but I’m really very tired of someone else thinking they know who or what is best for me. I would like, once in a while — like during an election, to decide for myself. You know, once in a while.
There are approximately 35,000 voters in Jefferson County and 459 registered members of the Jefferson County Democratic Party. The numbers speak for themselves. Voters should choose their own candidates, not the party, and all candidates should have a level playing field so that the PEOPLE get to decide who wins any election, not the party and definitely not party hacks. Voters, it’s up to you. A sheriff chosen by the voters or a sheriff chosen by the un-democratic party. You decide.
