I have been involved in our Criminal Justice System in Jefferson County for 27 years and I will be endorsing Mindy Walker for District Court Judge. I know both candidates and I respect each of them. Mindy gets my vote because she has a broad base of experience that will inform her work on the District Court bench.

Mindy has a high level of experience in litigating cases. She has practiced in superior, district, family, juvenile, federal and tribal courts across the state, having appeared in nine other counties in Washington, as well as Jefferson County.

Mindy currently serves as a judge pro-tem in Kitsap County. Her work has resulted in a wide range of knowledge of how each court operates on both sides of the bench. She is aware of the differences in district court office procedures throughout the state. While Mindy respects the work of the staff of our district court, her knowledge can bring progressive thoughts to our current Jefferson County court systems.

Mindy is a proven leader, as well as a highly respected volunteer working diligently for several charitable causes in humanitarian efforts. She chaired Gonzaga’s Amnesty International Chapter and was president of the International Law Society. Mindy has served two terms as president of the Jefferson County Bar Association. I feel this sheds a light on her ambition, her integrity, her patience, her knowledge and her overall character.

Her ethics are reflected in her work as an attorney, a judge pro tem, and an active volunteer. Her temperament is that which is vital to serving as a judge. Her high level of intelligence is obvious in her daily work and her compassion is revealed in her humanitarian efforts.

I believe she will listen and deliver fair, sound judgments if elected to this position.
