‘A positive and safe environment’

In a social setting, you would find that Dave Stanko is a nice guy. Thinking the same, I supported Dave in 2014 because he was the better of the two finalists for sheriff. It didn’t take long after the election when I learned that Dave Stanko was not the person I thought he was.

It appears most of Stanko’s supporters either live in Port Townsend, or only know Dave socially, from church or from the Rotary. It also appears, these folks only know of Stanko’s work experience from what he has told them.

Dave Stanko’s supporters are missing the facts that re-electing Dave Stanko will only intensify the current environment at the department.

The Sept. 19, 2018, Leader editorial disrespected the deputies’ spouses who voiced their safety concerns after Stanko inexcusably handed out a current deputy work schedule. Citizens may have a right to know that a deputy is always on duty, however, they do not have the right to know which deputy is on duty as this could threaten the safety of our deputies, their families and their property.

Since we have the right to know that county employees are doing their jobs, I encourage everyone to join me in helping to create a positive and safe environment for our county employees and their families in the sheriff’s office by electing Joe Nole for Sheriff.
