Our community's avid book lovers have once again made October's Friends of the Port Townsend Library Book Sale a resounding success, generating $2,281 that will help support Port Townsend Library programs, including Books for Babies, youth and teen programs, guest speakers, book clubs and the ever popular Community Read.
We offer a special thank-you to the many FOL volunteers who contributed over 100 hours to the book sale setup and takedown that allowed 350 people from town and around the region to fill their hands and bags with nearly 3,300 books.
Remaining children's books were donated to the Literacy Council of Jefferson County. Unsold general books were donated locally.
