A number of student-athletes on Port Townsend and Chimacum high schools’ sports teams have made it into the Olympic 1A All-League.
In wrestling, the first team roster includes Chimacum’s Kyle Caldwell at 195 pounds, and Port Townsend’s Dylan Tracer at 170 pounds and Tucker Booth at 285 pounds.
The second team roster includes Port Townsend’s Gabe Petrick at 160 pounds and Chimacum’s Ryan Caldwell at 182 pounds.
In boys’ basketball, Port Townsend’s Kaiden Parcher was named most valuable player. His PT teammates Jackson Foster and Noa Montoya were named to the first team.
In girls’ basketball, Port Townsend’s Kaitlyn Meek was named most valuable player. Her PT teammates Jaz Apker-Montoya and Izzy Hammett were named to the first team, alongside Chimacum freshman Mia McNair.
Chimacum girls’ basketball coach Trevor Huntingford praised McNair’s “stellar year average” of more than 10 points a game, nearly 6 steals per game, and 4 rebounds a game.
“Mia has put in countless hours over the years working on her game, so it isn’t a surprise,” Huntingford said. “She’s a phenomenal defender whom I’d put up against anyone, and her skills are growing every day. If she continues on this path, she’s well on her way to the next level.”
