The HansenCrafts Spinners came out on top for the second year in a row in a replay of last year’s adult co-ed softball league playoffs.
The Spinners took home the championship trophy Aug. 16 after beating out 7 Cedars in a 9-3 win at HJ Carroll Park in Chimacum.
“It was a great season,” said Spinners coach Jessica Larson. “We had fun doing it.”
According to Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Assistant Manager Chris Macklin, there were 12 teams total in the league including Justice League - Schodowski and Schodowski law, Grinders - Mean Bean Coffee, Arrow Lumber, Sirens, County Wreck, Current Electric Breakers Barflies - Uptown Pub, Pourhouse, Melon Ballers - Peninsula Taxi and PT Diggers - PT Garden Center.
“We had a very fun season,” Macklin said. “The coaches of the teams put a lot into it, we had no rainouts, every game was played.”
According to 7 Cedars coach Zack Brayton, the highlight of the season was the fun had by all the teams. He noted this year’s championship game was a rematch, ending the same way as the 2017 season.
Macklin said the highlights of the league this year was the passion from the coaches.
“It’s very exciting, and when we get new teams in the league, that’s really fun,” Macklin said. “The tournament and expectations leading up to the tournament have a lot of excitement behind it.”
