More than 80 golfers participated in the annual two-day Jim Caldwell Memorial Rhody Golf Tournament raising $2,000 for the Rhododendron Festival Association.
Hosted by Gabriel Tonan, club pro of the Port Townsend Golf Club, 44 golfers entered the Saturday individual competition, with top honors awarded to Hazli Katsikapes (low gross), Kurt Lake (low net), Becki Beebe (low Calloway) and Rita Beebe (low net, women’s division).
The Sunday two-person team competition saw 24 teams vie for top honors. The champions of the three divisions were Chris Holloway and Ronnie Harrell (low gross), Doug Lux and Brian Lux (low net) and Fred Brooling and Lou DeLeo (low Calloway).
A portion of the entry fees for the two-day tournament, along with a matching contribution by the Caldwell family and tourney sponsors, was donated to the Rhododendron Festival Association.
The complete tournament standings are:
Saturday individual: Low gross: 1) Hazli Katsikapes, 2) Ronnie Harrell, 3) Greg Miller, 4) Mitch Black & Mike Lux. Low net: 1) Kurt Lake, 2) Gene Yantz, 3) Fred Heywood, 4) Doug Collins, Chris Gorden & Russ Harding. Low Calloway: 1) Becki Beebe, 2) Lou DeLeo, 3) Paul Anderson, Sean Anderson, Tom Caldwell and Nate McCallum. Low net, women’s division: 1) Rita Beebe. Men’s long drive: Jimmy Beebe. Women’s long drive: B. Beebe. Men’s longest putt: Larry Germeau. Women’s longest putt: B. Beebe.

Low net: 1) Doug Lux & Brian Lux, 2) Kurt Lake & Larry Germeau, 3) Russ Jerabek & Doug Collins, 4) Denyse Tonan & Scott Nelson, with Gene Yantz & Russ Harding. Low Calloway: Fred Brooling & Lou Deleo.
