A Port Hadlock woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Oct. 25 after being injured in a two-car collision west of Port Ludlow at the intersection of Eaglemount and Center roads.

The 33-year-old, a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the crash, was airlifted after sustaining unspecified injuries, Jefferson County Undersheriff Art Frank told The Leader Oct. 26 via email.

The woman was treated and released later Oct. 25, the Harborview Medical Center nursing supervisor said Oct. 26.

The collision happened at about 4:25 p.m. when a 1997 Toyota Avalon being driven northeast bound along Eaglemount Road reportedly failed to yield at the stop sign before entering the roadway. The Toyota smashed head-on into a 1984 Nissan pickup truck, being driven southbound by a 33-year-old Quilcene resident on Center Road, Frank said.

The driver of the Nissan was treated at Jefferson Healthcare for minor injuries and released, Frank said.

No other injuries were reported.

The driver of the Toyota, a 24-year-old female, of Port Ludlow, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. Oct. 25 and is currently facing potential vehicular assault charges in relation to the incident.
