Officers with the Port Townsend Police Department responded to 157 calls for service for the week of Nov. 10-16, 2014, including 3 animal-related complaints. Of 57 traffic stops, 13 resulted in tickets being issued. Officers conducted 9 patrols in the city, including 3 in the downtown area; responded to 3 alarm calls, 1 traffic collision, 4 theft reports and 2 suicidal subjects.

The following calls for service occurred during this time.

A concerned wife reported that her husband was staying on his boat at the PT Boat Haven, but was no longer answering his phone at 11:56 p.m., Nov. 10. Officers located the male with help from the port security officer and found he was fine. The couple is going through a divorce, and the husband does not want contact with the female.

A person reported that their 2-year-old child had walked away at 2:51 p.m., Nov. 11 in the 200 block of Umatilla. The reporting party could hear the child nearby, but was unsure of her location. Before officers arrived, the child was located in the neighbor’s yard.

A resident in the 1000 block of 19th Street reported their car window had been broken at 4:34 p.m., Nov. 11. The person explained they had closed the car door and the window just broke. It was determined no crime had occurred and it was most likely the drastic temperature changes that caused the glass to become fragile.

A home that had bright disco lights and loud music coming from it was reported shortly after midnight on Nov. 12 in the 2000 block of Haines Street. Officers found the lone occupant passed out from alcohol consumption. They shut off the loud music and light show.

A female reported a male outside her door was attempting to sexually assault her at 12:40 a.m., Nov. 12 at a hotel at 2020 Washington St. Responding officers found the female, who they are familiar with, was extremely intoxicated. She said the male helped her to her room and then she closed the door on him. She said she felt he wanted to assault her, but that he never came into her room or did anything that would show he intended to harm her. The man, who was staying few doors down from the female, reported hearing a crashing sound coming from outside by the trash cans (which are up against the wall to his room). When he went outside, he found the female unable to walk and falling over. He helped her back to her room and went back to sleep. The officers asked the female if she needed an aid car or wanted to go to the hospital, but she refused. As the woman was not in public, the officers could only recommend she be seen for her extreme intoxication. The woman was advised to lock her door.

Officers were notified at 4:23 p.m., Nov. 12 that the new benches installed near the Kearney Street entrance of Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park had been defaced with paint.

A female reported that a male she did not want contact with was driving around in the Port of Port Townsend and trying to talk with her at 4:55 p.m., Nov. 12. There are no protection orders in place; she just wanted officers to remind the male that she did not want contact with him. The male left the area, and officers were unable to locate him.

An unwanted female dumped a truckload of books in the yard of a home on Beech Street at around 10:30 a.m., Nov. 14. She told the responding officer that the male living there had had an affair with her. The officer helped her put the books back in the truck and discussed protection orders with the male and his wife.

A 75-year-old female called to report she was having a verbal argument with her 53-year-old daughter at 5:25 p.m., Nov. 14 in the 500 block of U Street. Officers arrived and calmed the situation.
