Mason County Public Utility District 1 is advising customers in south Jefferson County, from Mike's Beach up to Mt. Walker, of a planned power outage May 28 and 29.
Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), which provides PUD 1’s power, is planning to do system maintenance and needs to shut off power overnight to the Duckabush substation.
Electricity is scheduled to be off from 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 until 8 a.m. Friday, May 29, according to the PUD 1.
“While BPA is performing its system maintenance, we are taking advantage of their outage and our employees will assist a contractor to perform scheduled maintenance on our substation as well,” a press release states.
The utility plans to send out postcard notices this week to affected customers and make robocall reminders next week.
The call center is open at the PUD 1 office during the outage. Call 1-800-544-4223.
If any problems or major changes arise that may delay restoration, the PUD 1 will update its social media accounts.
