The following incidents are not all encompassing and represent a portion of incidents JCSO has responded to during this period. Much of the language in this log reflects that of incident descriptions provided by deputies.

A Port Townsend resident was cited for criminal second-degree trespassing at 1:59 a.m., Jan. 4 after workers at the Port Townsend Paper Corp. mill reported seeing the man wandering the facility. The man was located sleeping on the floor of the women’s restroom portable. The man was issued a criminal citation and advised not to return.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle collision on Center Road near milepost 7 at 9:40 p.m., Jan. 4. Upon investigation, the deputy determined that both the driver and occupant had outstanding warrants for their arrests. Both were arrested, and controlled substances were found in their possession. Both subjects were booked into Jefferson County Jail for the outstanding warrants and drug-related charges; the driver also was booked for DUI.

Several passersby reported seeing a naked male subject sitting on the side of the road on State Route 19 near milepost 10 at 8:29 a.m., Jan. 7. A second caller reported that the subject was in a fetal position on the shoulder of the roadway. East Jefferson Fire Rescue was dispatched to evaluate the individual.

After hearing banging noises, a Port Hadlock resident called 911 at 7:50 p.m., Jan. 8 and reported that he believed someone was attempting to get into his back window. While deputies were en route, the subject’s wife called back and reported that the intruder was a rat.

A Coyle resident called 911 at 7:50 p.m., Jan. 8 and reported that her husband had assaulted her and broken the windows out of their vehicle. Deputies responded to the scene and learned that the woman had attempted to flee the assault and locked herself in the vehicle, whereupon the male suspect began striking the windows with a shovel. The male suspect left the scene prior to the deputies’ arrival, and is being sought.

Several callers reported at about 9:30 a.m., Jan. 10 that a male subject on State Route 19 near Irondale was taking his clothes off and then riding his bike, naked, on Irondale Road. Deputies contacted the subject, who refused to stop and continued riding his bicycle. Deputies deployed a Taser and effectively restrained the man, who was promptly taken to Jefferson Healthcare for an evaluation. The man was later booked at Jefferson County Jail for disorderly conduct and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

A Chimacum resident reported at 9:43 a.m., Jan. 10 that she had received an error message on her electronic tablet stating that she was looking at child pornography and that the message had come from the FBI. The resident was advised that the message was a common computer virus and to have the virus cleaned from her device.

A stolen Public Utility District payment box was located in the wooded area near Anderson Lake State Park at 10:58 a.m., Jan. 10. The box was taken to JCSO, where it is to be processed for forensic evidence.
