A 28-year-old Port Townsend man was in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a motorcycle accident Monday, May 29.

East Jefferson Fire Rescue was called at 6:37 p.m. after the man allegedly fled a traffic stop by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies on South Jacob Miller Road, according to a press release from East Jefferson Fire Rescue.

The man traveled northbound on South Jacob Miller at a high speed before turning west on Hastings Avenue and wrecked his Honda motorcycle when he failed to navigate the curve near Middlepoint Road, according to the press release.

EJFR Chief Gordon Pomeroy said the man suffered multiple bilateral telescoping femur fractures, an arm fracture and possible internal injuries after he hit several trees.

Because of privacy laws, EJFR does not release the names of people treated.
