Two men were taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital with undetermined injuries after a hit-and-run traffic collision on South Discovery Road Tuesday afternoon.
East Jefferson Fire Rescue was toned to a reported two-vehicle minor traffic collision at South Discovery Road and Cape George Road at 1:39 p.m., Sept. 27.
While southbound on S. Discovery in route to the call, EJFR Engine 15 reported a northbound pickup truck passing them with extensive front-end damage. Engine 15 soon arrived on scene in the 3600 block of S. Discovery to find a white Toyota Tacoma pickup with significant rear-end damage. No other vehicles were around.
The driver of the Toyota was treated and transported to Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend.
Responding law enforcement officers located a green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with heavy front-end damage at the intersection of Cape George Road and Nelson’s Landing Road.
EJFR EMS personnel responded to that location and transported the driver to Jefferson Healthcare with head injuries, after he had been placed under arrest.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
