The Free Swim is set for Aug. 12, at the Mountain View Pool.
Lane lines are set up for lap swimming, water-walking and deep-water workouts from 1 to 2 p.m. This therapy and lap time swim is sponsored by Jefferson Healthcare.
After this first hour, the lane lines come down for an open recreational swim for all ages from 2 to 5 p.m. Sponsoring the recreational swim this month is 7 Cedars Resort.
The pool is accessible to all, with a stair ramp and lift, but children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water.
Free swims are offered at the Mountain View Pool on the second Sunday of each month, thanks to the JeffCo Aquatic Coalition, YMCA, City of Port Townsend, Mountain View Pool, The Leader and other community sponsors.
The Mountain View Pool is at 1925 Blaine St. and has an expanded menu of group and private swim lessons during the summer.
A full range of water fitness classes and swim lessons for all ages are in full swing, and scholarships are available for those with financial need, so no child is turned away.
The pool offers a special youth access pass for ages 4-18, good through Labor Day.
