Port Townsend School District's boundaries for director will dissolve and be reconfigured after voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition 1 on election night Nov. 6.

Prop. 1 received 6,699 yes votes, 84.29 percent, and 1,249 no votes, 15.71 percent.

"I am thankful that the voters trusted that our proposal was for continued health of the board," said Connie Welch, chair of the board.

Superintendent John Polm said he was pleased with the support.

"The new configuration of director districts will be drafted in the coming weeks, and a public hearing will take place by March," he said of the next steps.
