July 6, 1959 – April 29, 2015

Shaun Albert Loring, 55, passed away April 29, 2015 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.

Shaun was born July 6, 1959 in Seattle, Washington, to Harry and Jeannie (Morency) Loring. He grew up and attended grade school in Brinnon, and graduated from Quilcene High School.

Shaun was a logger for many years in the Olympic Mountains. When his health began to fail, he had to retire, moving to Sturgis in 2013.

Shaun loved hunting, especially elk and grouse. He enjoyed the outdoors and hiked many trails, but especially enjoyed spending time with his kids.

Shaun is survived by his wife, Beth Bartlett; children Emily Ward, Steven Daniel "Buck Jr.,” Cody, Garret and Raymond; adopted daughter Megan Short; brothers Sam Boling, Tim Hodge, Gary (Lynn) Loring and Steve Loring; sisters Jenny Loring, Vicki Visser and Sandy Boling; aunt, Maryann Morency; nieces and nephews Alicia Johnson, Logan York, Katie York, Nellie Morency, Samantha Coleman, Aaron Boling, Jason Boling, Adam Boling, Brant Boling, Jake Boling, Ryan Larrance and Phillip; cousins, Danae Morency, Keli Anderson, Melissa Boling and Terri Morency; and numerous other family members.

A memorial has been established to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.

A celebration of Shaun's life will be held July 25 at 11 a.m. at Quilcene Assembly of God in Quilcene.
