Chamber welcomes Mullen at Nov. 30 open house

The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is set to host a welcome reception for Lloyd Mullen, new publisher of The Port Townsend & Jefferson County Leader, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Leader office, 226 Adams St.

The community is invited to the meet-and-greet event, which includes refreshments.

Internet service topic of Brinnon town hall

Members of the West Canal Community Broadband Project have planned a Brinnon town hall to discuss its proposal for setting up community-owned Internet service. The meeting is set for 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101.

According to organizers, the west side of the Hood Canal has been challenged by poor Internet service for some time. The project proposes the creation of a nonprofit community broadband corporation as a solution.
