Charles Leo McCaffery, “Chuck,” of Ferndale, Washington, born on July 25, 1958 in Spokane, Washington, to Robert James McCaffery and the late Clara Carol McCaffery.

Chuck passed away at age 59 on July 20, 2018 in Lake Chelan, Washington.

Chuck attended Western Washington University. He worked at Port Townsend Paper for 27 years and at Phillips 66 for almost 8 years. His coworkers knew they could count on him to help when needed, or stand up for them when necessary.

He was a strong and fearless man with a great sense of humor who spent some time as a commercial crabber before working at Port Townsend Paper.

Chuck was the loving husband of Elizabeth McCaffery. He is survived by his daughter, Linnea Meenderinck (Jason) Grandchildren Nicholas and Liam and his sons, John McCaffery (Stephanie) Grandson Leo; Patrick McCaffery (Olivia) Granddaughter Emerson; brother, Bob McCaffery; and sisters, Irene Jensen and Karen Mantel. He also leaves behind his adored cat, Dot.

He was a noted outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and boating. Chuck loved mentoring kids and especially enjoyed being a Grandfather.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service, officiated by Pastor Bobbi Virta, on Friday, August 3rd at noon at the United Church of Ferndale, 2034 Washington St., Ferndale, Washington, 98248.
