Seattle-based hot-jazz string band Hot Club Sandwich performs at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 23 at Rainshadow Recording Studio at Fort Worden, located in Building 315, behind Copper Canyon Press. Admission is $10.
Rainshadow Recording Studio was recently founded by veteran engineer Everett Moran.
Bringing its own approach to vintage jazz, augmenting each set with classic Latin American songs, Old World music and quite a bit of twang, Hot Club Sandwich features Ray Wood, a renowned guitarist from Kitsap County, who has been performing around the world since the late 1950s. Tim Wetmiller plays swing fiddle, Joseph Mascorella holds down a light drum kit, James Schneider plays bass, Kevin Connor performs Selmer-style guitar, and Matt Sircely plays swing mandolin. Everyone sings.
