FRIDAY, SEPT. 23

Friday Salon: The Art of Acting, 1:40 p.m., Port Townsend High School auditorium, 1500 Van Ness.

Robert Horton interviews festival guest actors Andrew Perez and Karen Allen. The public is welcome; seating is limited.

Vintage Car Parade and Opening Ceremony, 4 p.m.

From City Hall to Haller Fountain; ribbon-cutting ceremony with Karen Allen and Charlie Soap follows parade.

Outdoor Movie: "Field of Dreams," 7:30 p.m., Taylor Street between Washington and Water

By donation, bring lawn chairs and blankets. Rain or shine, although strong winds cancel all outdoor films.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 24

Music and the Movies, 10 a.m., Area 51 (Pope Marine Building, on dock at foot of Madison Street)

Join filmmakers for morning panel discussions. Free coffee. Moderated by Doug Blush. Panelists are Erin O’Hara, composer, “The C Word”; Karina Mueller, composer, “Call of the Ice”; Jonathan Keijser, director, “What Would Beethoven Do?”; Alexander Janko, director/composer, “Year by the Sea”; and Alixcia Oelman, composer, “Learning to See: The World of Insects.”

Outdoor movie: “Toy Story,” 7:30 p.m.,  Preceded by film short “Tea Time.” Introduced by animator David Tart.

“The Aliens,” live at Key City Public Theatre, 11:15 p.m., 419 Washington St.

The cast and crew (including Andrew Perez) from “Bastards y Diablos” perform one show only of Annie Baker’s Pulitzer Prize–winning play “The Aliens.”

SUNDAY, SEPT. 25

Sunday-morning Storytellers, 10 a.m., Area 51 (Pope Marine Building, on dock at foot of Madison Street)

Join filmmakers for morning panel discussions. Free coffee. Moderated by Jonathan Browning, writer, filmmaker and Second City Improv actor.

Panelists are: Mike Magidson, director, “Call of the Ice,” “Inuk”; Johnnie Jamieson, subject, “Mile 19”; Harold Mintz, subject “1-800-Give-Us-Your-Kidney”; Anna Brones, producer, writer, adventurer; Annie O’Neill, director, “Phil’s Camino”; and Alan Maskin, director, “Welcome to the 5th Facade.” 

Outdoor movie: “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” 7:30 p.m. Introduced by “Raiders” costar Karen Allen.

Awards presentation, 6:15 p.m., Rose Theatre, 235 Taylor St.

Watch clips from the films in competition for jury awards presented for Best Films in five categories, as well as Audience Choice, Spirit of PTFF and The Big Cheese awards. The Jim Ewing Young Director Award is presented for the first time this year.
