Internationally acclaimed countertenor Terry Barber kicks off Port Ludlow Performing Arts' 2016-17 season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Port Ludlow Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place. A complimentary champagne reception precedes the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday's program, “The Many Voices of Terry Barber,” offers an entertaining exploration through light musical theater, classical and popular works.

Barber has been a soloist for the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall. His voice can be heard on every major record label with a range of artists from Madonna to the London Philharmonic. As a member of the multiple Grammy-winning ensemble Chanticleer, Barber was hailed, “…the jewel in Chanticleer’s crown.”

He began his education as a double major in engineering and music at Northwestern University, and completed his masters’ degree in historically informed performance from Trinity College of Music in London.

Barber is founder of Artists For A Cause Inc., a nonprofit that supports hundreds of artists using their talents for community improvement.
